Re: Four candles (well 3) UCO candles to be precise

Re: Four candles (well 3) UCO candles to be precise
Diversity being good  but a safe(r) enclosed flame is always a good thing Vs a open flame it's also protected from any wind / breeze The little candles in the lantern have a run time of approximately 9 hours each due to the way the units hold the candle and hold a wax pool in the holder a spri...

Re: Four candles (well 3) UCO candles to be precise
Following with great interest. I do like my uco's I'd never heard of a UCO candlelier, but this intrigues me. What's the consensus about the cost effectiveness of candles, generally, and what's the cheapest ('Jenny Tightar5e) way of sourcing candles on a run-time basis? I'm guessing that a simple w...

Re: Hi guys!
Hi and welcome from Cheshire. We tend to be more inclined to bug in or bug elsewhere rather than head for the woods. Personally I always advocate an extended pantry and a small stash of cash. That mix covers a multitude of eventualities at no real cost. Then add in a way of heating food and self, an...

Welcome from the suburbs of Cheshire.
You have a head start, and I hope you have a few tonnes of curry to go with that rice.

Re: Straw Poll. How much food do you have in reserve? How well do you stock rotate?
Not wanting to piss on anyone’s bonfire but this idea of going out hunting with a bow or whatever is close to being a prepper fantasy. Personally I think traps and snares would be a valuable tool as they can be set , left and checked later discretely , just don’t expect large game. all good and val...

Re: Straw Poll. How much food do you have in reserve? How well do you stock rotate?
In theory I could shoot ducks and geese, but I only have a catapault at the moment. Bow and arrows would do it. There are loads of farmers' fields nearby, but I'm not sure what they grow. I can't easily harvest grains, and some of it is just grass. Bow hunting is also a no-no in this country...... ...

Re: Straw Poll. How much food do you have in reserve? How well do you stock rotate?
Koka noodles. Box of 30 for about £13-18. Not the healthiest food, but tasty and only needs hot water. I've tried vegetable and mushroom flavours, just ordered some spicy stir fry, which are also vegetarian. Vegetable are the most expensive at about £18 at the moment, the other two are about £13 Wh...
