Re: Post-SHTF menstruation

I'm a total convert - I lost mine and been back on more usual sanitary stuff for a month or two. Awful! :D

Re: Prepping for the next finacial crash?

I graduated straight into the last crash. I'm very cynical when it comes to money, and lending, and maintaining a good credit score. That being said, it's easy to get sucked into an insecure financial state by taking what you think is good advice. When I bought my car, I wanted to get it on finance ...

Re: How will YOU keep warm on cold winter nights?

Warm socks, and lots of layers! :D I've lived in flats for years, so rarely if ever put my central heating on. Others around me must like having their homes super-heated or something! But if the electric went out for all of us, I've got plenty of sleeping bags, duvets, old fashioned bed sheets and s...

Re: Zebra Billy can Modedified

At guide camp we used to make a whole roast dinner using a metal dustbin covered in a pit, covered with the sod from where we'd dug the hole. Worked a treat and fed dozens!

Re: Where to start?

So where do I actually start? Do I buy a backpack first and then fit my gear into it? Or do I start buying the contents then buy a bag that will fit in? For my first ever bag, I've gone contents first, to give me an idea of how big a bag I'd need. I'm not planning a BOB for outdoors survival so muc...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

I've just booked onto a Bushcraft weekend course in november. Haven't been camping in way too long! Looking forward to pushing myself and learning some skills.

Re: Keeping warm without power

Since leaving home ten years ago, I've never had central heating. In student digs we were pretty old school and left it off... once left a gammon out in a bowl of water to defrost and it ended up freezing the water. The worst with that kind of cold is not being to dry clothes, and the inevitable col...

Re: Post-SHTF menstruation

I've now used the search button! There weren't any threads dedicated to mooncups in my defense  looks like they pop up occasionally on threads about other topics.

Re: Post-SHTF menstruation

That's embarrassing! I looked through the 12 pages on this board, but didn't do a search. My bad!

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

I'm gathering things I've got stashed away in disparate boxes and drawers for my first BOB. Bought one of those presentation folders for emergency documents to put in too. Then I'll buy a bag once I know how much I have to fit! Also printed off maps of my local area (I've just moved), to do some eve...
