Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Spent the last few days collecting up all the mole hills from the countryside around us, we use it to help break up the clay in the garden and as potting compost, works a treat for both. Will be planting the first batches of seeds undercover at the weekend as well as harvesting the spinach and lettu...

Re: catapult rubber

Depends on what you prefer and what slingshot you are using, I use Theraband Gold (flat bands) on mine which I buy and then make my own band sets, my partner has a barnett which she uses tubes on but she buys hers ready made. There is a wide range of options on the market to chose from.

Re: Pressure canner sizing/filling

We have always used a water bath here over an open fire (free fuel!), we reuse all our jars just replacing all the lids (twist cap) with new ones, (the old ones are recycled for slingshot targets) the jars are sterilized in boiling water prior to use. Not sure of the cost in the UK but out here the ...

Re: Where to start?

Many thanks everyone for your replies. @Jamesey1981 - I watched the video with interest, I liked the fact you explained your reasoning behind the kit you packed, to an idiot like me that helped a lot. @ukpreppergrrl - Fully agree, I made a massive list of things for my hiking/survival bag, read up o...

Where to start?

Apologies as I am not sure where to post it so MOD's/Admin feel free to amend and move if required. Following the beginners advice on here I sat down today and started a list/spreadsheet of equipment I would need when I start putting together my hiking/survival backpack breaking down the main areas,...
