Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Been quite productive, more dehydrating, made some charcloth (a bit of an affectation, I've loads of alternatives), been getting plenty practise packing my bag to escape for the weekends too, back up the hills this weekend. Its not football but the next best thing. :D At danger of going seriously o...

Re: Hey from fife Scotland!

Absolutely mate. I can enjoy aspects of it, more the making and building things side of things. Don’t enjoy buying and storing things, it’s a task I feel I should do. Don’t particularly dislike it either though. You are also right it isn’t a competition, and if it was I would lose, plenty people out...

Re: Hey from fife Scotland!

Funny you mention that, I’ve done a bit of research on that recently and was thinking of starting a thread asking who does this now or seeing if similar thread exists.

Re: Hey from fife Scotland!

Yeah, for me it’s a form of insurance against all the things you mentioned but also worst case scenario events. It means I can sleep easier at night. I don’t like work either but I still go. I’d much rather spend more of my year in the tropics drinking mojitos or beers until I fall asleep during the...

Re: Hey from fife Scotland!

Definitely sowing seeds of doubt in my gardening plan here guys! Don’t know hoe you can do it really. Puns aside though, I will try starting one. I’m not into being prepared because I enjoy it like some of you no doubt are. I’m in this gig because one day I think it might be necessary. Mrs will prob...

Re: Bolt cutters or?

Bugging out is my worst case scenario, last option and would involve hiking about 20 miles or so to a family members house. My fiancé has her own bob too. Even my dog has a bob, she has a backpack with her food packed in it and she wears it quite happily. Consider the situation of an EMP then my hou...

Re: WW3 - logic

I’d imagine ww3 will include at least one nuclear detonation. Probably not early on but eventually. I don’t think it will lead to the extermination of mankind worldwide though.

Well done Andy, I’m an electrical/mechanical engineer so this really interests me and is well within my skillset. Looked st the link and was pleased by the price. Think I will be buying one. Thanks for posting.

Bio diesel

Has anyone here ever tried making bio diesel or ethanol fuel to power their car or genny?

I feel for sustainability post society this would be an invaluable skill.
