We're in the NE of scotland so only a yellow warning here (70mph winds), it's an amber warning for the west of Scotland.

What about the "cheese" (and I use the term loosely) sachets in MRE's? Pretty sure they'd last a good long time if they could be bought separately to an MRE.

And also - carry the bag more. Take it when you go on family walks etc. Just getting used to carrying the load makes it "lighter".
Ps - yeah, 3 knives, hatchet, trauma shears & saw is a bit overkill.
