Re: unusual buildings like bunkers for sale

problem is most of the bigger bunkers are bought by data storage companies I cannot think why data storage companies will want them unless they are going to fill them with boxes of tapes. Using them for server farms won't work - the biggest problem is removing the heat and with thick concrete walls...

Re: Poncho Tents And Pop-Up Tents

If you fled to the woods tonight doing YouTube tutorials, you would die. End of. This bug out fantasy amongst survivalist and Preppers is sooo tiresome. When I was 19 I joined HM Royal Marines. I served a couple of years, and did the usual survival training/ living in a ditch/ Arctic training. You ...

Re: Paracord Bracelets

The only real use of paracord bracelets is to let preppers identify each other in public without saying anything. Pretty much how I see it too. I usually have a couple metres of paracord but its halved, halved and halved again and knotted over itself. Handy for an emergency dog lead if I forg...

Re: Canal EGRESS

Whilst not strictly on-topic, but in the same vein, we have 100s of miles of railways in this country. Some are still in use, (Great Western Railways not so much :x )obviously, but a lot are now disused. They have one point in common with the waterways, though - they are all built on flat terrain so...

Re: So what have we learnt?

So far I've learnt that everything I was preparing for is beginning to come to fruition. There was never going to be one single source of issue, but the secondary effects of people being underprepared are obvious in the supermarkets. If you think this is bad, wait until the delivery drivers start fa...

Re: Food in your emergency bag

Lots of grains-in-pouches, fruit-in-pouches purees, and so on around, can be eaten cold. Cans of coffee. Peperami or kabanos. Fruit bars. Tins of rice pudding. Dehydrated fruit. Bags of nuts. GORP. One thing to bear in mind with the fruit purees and other high fibre stuff is that if your body isn't...

Re: Food in your emergency bag

I'm really quite sad and keep a 72hour supply of tinned food & water, tea, coffee in the car along with a solid fuel stove. Along with shovel , foul weather gear, torch, knife, etc and a book in case I'm in for a long wait. I like the idea of a tin of rice pudding though - will be adding that! ...

Re: Hi all

Morning again to all, thanks for the welcome. I don't tend to subscribe to the zombie apocalypse-end of the market, but having seen at first hand (elsewhere in the world) how quickly things can deteriorate when the snowflakes aren't able to get their iced-frappatino-latte-whatever when they want, h...
