Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

I used to be friendly with a former TV Gladiator. Not a ounce of fat on her. Just muscle. But her GP told her that her BMI made her obese too. She was not impressed.

Re: Cannabis for pain relief

I know someone who is frustrated that cannabis is so hard to get legally for medical use
It is the only thing that works on his chronic pain beyond strong opiates with far worse side effects.

I was talking about the state of our kitchen cupboards with t'other half today and I think I am going to try do do an "eat it up January" to reduce the number of older cans, half eaten packets and things that otherwise do not rotate well.

Well done! I am overdue for an inventory but having trouble getting the energy together to do it. While a camp in the woods BOB is not usually very much use a grab and go hotel or hospital bag makes life much easier when a 1am trip to A&E occurs or the police/fire knock on your door and say &quo...

Re: Old Oil Lamp

It would seem that Toplicht are still in business so you could see if they have anything on their website and if not you could email them some photos and ask for advice.

Re: NEW TO FORUM

I think I got outed by my handbag back in the days when I was a youth leader's wife. The teens (& elders) all seemed to know that I always had a spare tissue, first aid supplies, torch, penknife etc on me and on one notable occasion a soldering iron. (In my defence I knew that I was very likely ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

If I remember right 60C is the point at which water gets too hot to keep a finger in it for more than a quick count of ten. My SIL spent time in Africa in her younger days and told of a local woman who was unable to breastfeed her newborn after a traumatic birth. The woman had had zero schooling and...

Thanks All. I think I will get some more 5l shop bought once the shops manage to restock and also look to keep some tap water + Milton in the shed as backup too. I will keep thinking about the Berkefeld but hold off unless there is another outage.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

I want to upgrade our water storage. We are on the edge of one of this week's water outages. We escaped this time but looking at Facebook queues made me realise just how hard getting hold of potable water is around here. Most of my water current stocks are OK for washing and the loo but need work to...
