Re: Long-Term Food
I noticed my rice bran oil has a two year shelf-life. I would rather it was in glass than plastic though. Passata is better stored long term in glass bottles too, rather than plastic-lined cartons which are leaching chemicals into the food. Ultimately I guess oil is not a necessity; all food can be ...

Re: Long-Term Food
My Father in law was works foreman at our local water treatment plant. He told me that tap water , at any given time , was at least 98% pure. Never 100% , as it had to pass through pipes and domestic plumbing. Good enough for me. When I was 19 I was posted to Belize for jungle training. We ran out ...

Re: Long-Term Food
I filter tap water because it's full of chlorine, fluoride and I dread to think what else. I don't want to run out of filters. Hitler used to give fluoride to people to stop their brains working properly. It also blocks iodine absorption which is essential for thyroid gland function. I have been rea...

Honey doesn't go out of date and has nutritional value unlike sugar. It can be mixed with organic oats, nuts and seeds which can all be bought in bulk, minimising cost and take up minimal storage space. It also needs no cooking but with oil can becone granola. I eat this for breakfast with milk or y...

Re: 2020 Potential Economic Collapse
Hi I'm wondering what you guys would advise in the following situation: Is it best to settle all outstanding debt now, to HMRC, bills, etc. because, judging from what you are all saying, cash is going to be worth less but these amounts will still have to be paid? Or is it wiser to hang onto cash, in...

Hi from Lancs...
Hi I am in Lancashire and have considered prepping for many years but life can be very demanding and health issues can hinder, which can be frustrating. Anyway, current events have caused me and a few of my friends to prioritise prepping somewhat; I'm trying to weigh up the balance as it could consu...

Re: Potential UK power failure
Thank you for sharing helpful info that is very helpful to someone new to prepping like me. I thought it may be helpful to say that solar panel systems are thought to create 'dirty electricity' and this is well worth considering.

Re: Hello
Hi
I am quite near to you...
How is it going with the 3 acres?
Have you considered keeping a few hens?
Eggs have good nutrition and their feed can be stored in bulk.
