Re: How to convince partner an IBC is required

Re: Choices

For staying local you really can't beat a bicycle though as long as you the fitness to rife it about up hills etc. Perfect bug in or out vehicle imo. Needs no fuel. Easy to fix a flat. Can carry quite a lot. In fact someone I know tows 2 kids in a trailer! Personally I have 2 racks (4 panniers avai...

Re: Choices

Back to the original question, I don't think the Hollywood bugout driving across the country scenario would really happen in the UK as we're just too small of a country, so as much I love the huge lifted hiluxes and defenders, small cars although light probably aren't practical enough, so I would pr...

Re: How to convince partner an IBC is required

Hi all. My partner is very reluctant and dismissive to the idea of any kind of 'prepping'. A year or 2 ago I disguised growing food as a fun little project we could do together and she went along with it, oblivious to the reasoning behind it. We've gone from a few little plants to 2 large raised be...

Re: How to convince partner an IBC is required

IBC'S probably are not the best option If they are on a wooden / plastic pallet they rot / go brittle in the sun light The opaque clear plastic let's everything green grow inside If you put one on a few pallets to get them high enough ensure the pallets don't rot / decay as when full it's 1000+kg p...

Walkie Talkie Recommendations

Hi all. One prep I would like to get is a walkie talkie of somekind. My partner doesn't drive, we work about 15 miles apart both a decent distance from home, so if SHTF and mobile service dropped it would be nice to have a way of communicating (i'll keep one and she can keep one in her bag). Any rec...

Re: E10 petrol potential problems!

This is why it could be a problem for older car owners who may not even notice it's changed and start damaging their cars without even realising

E10 petrol potential problems!

I don't know if anyone has seen this but this could be a pain in the bum for anyone who owns a classic petrol vehicle, or possibly up to an early/mid 2000s petrol engined vehicle (also petrol mowers, chainsaws, boats, low CC mopeds and motorbikes). https://www.gov.uk/guidance/e10-petrol-explained Ba...

This is the potato haul from just the red potato sack in the previous picture as it was planted 1st. 3 potatos that had start seeding (growing eyes) has produced around 30 potatos 😁 couple of little potatos but a few big ones too. Like i've said, super easy to grow!
