Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Hi all, I'm thinking about potentially prepping with some kind of solar generator. I have a small solar power thing for charging up something small like a phone/tablet but that is all. There was recently a power cut in my area which lasted one and a half hours and luckily I had torches, batteries, c...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit
I've made a 2 page summary of buying recommendations on this thread  a lot of it I have already, of course ... but this bit on superglue is interesting. I've got ordinary superglue https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-super-glue-3g/p/0081176 though the reviews aren't particularly good, it would ...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit
Gorilla glue is a different beast all together it's a pu based adhesive Probably not good to get in a wound as it reacts with moisture and expands not good if it gets into the blood stream.. Most jobs can be done with steri strips and a couple of drops of super glue to secure it if it comes loose (...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 8.
Got made redundant last week, the preschool was about to go into liquidation and suddenly got a loan at the 11th hour from from a company who is interested in taking it on, to keep it afloat. Us staff had meeting today with the potential new owners but the future is totally uncertain and we may not...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit
Actually the best absorbant material we use for all chemical spills is plain cheap cat litter. Make sure you have a bag of cat litter, gloves, a mask, dustpan and brush. Depending what chemicals you have this covers pretty much all of them. For flammable I would use sand as well. Thanks, I never wo...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit
Steri strips I've found dirt cheap on ebay as well as normal saline. If you have any Chemicals around its a very good idea to have a chemical spills kit ready and know how to clean up safely. I can give a rough outline of an all purpose spills kit if anyone wants it (science technician with lots of...
