Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Just updated my Advance Decision. Mother in Law is currently on palliative care due to multi organ failure and other illnesses and is nil by mouth. We were urged to rush to hospital in the early hours of Saturday, she is currently rallying. Her care in hospital has been mostly good, although despit...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
I *am* having terrible sleep for a few days this week. I've needed to keep a window open on the first floor overnight, and the Alsatian-type dog that my neighbour imprisons in a shed was barking, all night, for about ten minutes every half hour or so. I was totally wiped out yesterday because of it...

I have a desk fan which oscillates from side to side, and I'm happy to put it on a chair so it reaches bed height, so to speak :) its good enough for the half dozen times a year I need to use it. I *am* having terrible sleep for a few days this week. I've needed to keep a window open on the first f...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
I don't think this summer will be as extreme as 2022, and El Nino has ended now, but it's warm enough for me to want a fan on now (24.5 in my room). Not sure how the double glazing will change things. I can open these windows wider, and I have a venetian blind now, but there's not much breeze, and i...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit
My home one is a St Johns workplace, prob small workplace, plus a few extras. It all lives in a clean, obviously, washing up bowl. Mostly. A few things on the shelf next to it. The St Johns is a good starting point, and a good case. I've had to update some of the contents. You can buy the dressings ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
I'm skipping the cameras idea for now, quote was a bit dear, and I don't want to mess with DIY. Quote was 2 cameras wired to hard disc recorder plugged into router. Decent quality. But was £998 plus vat. I managed to get a crucial screw in the London Bar, just below the Yale bit. Electrician did it ...

Ordered a pair of fairly cheap sunglasses, make is Duco, £22. They are polarising, non-photochromatic, fairly dark. I have a pair of these in my EGB, and I sometimes borrow them, which is bad practice. I prefer these for general use apart from cycling. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07869RL3D/...

when I was a kid I used to eat them in stages. First I'd eat the thin chocolate on the outside, and the toffee layer, then the inside. A two course meal! I wasn't fat either.

They sound pretty good, how much is the postage? Can't find reviews, is in the US. Parent company is a cooperative.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
I microwaved some butter today. Got a new microwave. My old one had plastic peeling off inside at the bottom, and paint bubbling inside at the top. Very poor as only 2 years old, Panasonic. This one is Samsung, and has a 5 year guarantee on the inside, which is ceramic. It was £100 at Argos. It is £...
