Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Just ordered 4 new windows. Not exactly prepping, but in a way I guess. Got the dehumidifier running 24/7. Got to look after the house and the lodgers. I still owe some money on loans, but the interest is only £40 a month, and that will decrease over time. I'm not borrowing any more to pay for the w...

Re: Best head torch on AA battery?
I've been looking for a head torch and was surprised to find that some of them are described as having 'motion detection' on them. Presumably this is to switch them on and off? Has anyone got one of these? I'm always a bit wary of having techie stuff on simple gadget, so does it work OK? I dunno. M...

Re: Value Range foods compared
I'm looking for suggestions please. British Indian Restaurant* style curry sauces. Best value for money with long shelf life...... And simple to prepare. This request comes from me realising that cooking an indian meal from scratch is not something to do under stress, ill, or 'under fire' For pasta...

I didn't really think about it, but water in a decent flask should still be hot after a couple of hours.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Air it emits isn't as cold now, only slightly cool, and that might be mainly because it's moving air rather than actually cold. Tried cooking rice in the flask last night. 2 hours was more than enough with a pre-rinse. Made way too much as my scales were acting up. Time for some new ones I think. No...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Just ordered a dehumidifier. Humidity in our house is over 60%, which is too high. I noticed condensation when I was in the loft. Bathroom has a fan, but it struggles to cope with lodgers' mega hot showers. Sometimes we dry clothes indoors, I'll have to use the line more. Does it dry outside if it'...

Practiced some knots. Alpine Butterfly, Sheet Bend, Double Sheet Bend and Bowline. I can still do the Bowline one handed with my eyes closed. This is an old climbing technique, but of course we didn't do it with our eyes closed. You do it in one movement of the wrist, without letting go of the end. ...
