Re: Value Range foods compared

Article in the Guardian yesterday about UK agriculture struggling due to wet weather, also other countries in Europe, and drought in Morocco, all meaning food prices are likely to go up. As if they haven't gone up enough already. Cauliflowers have gone up in price, and have been smaller recently. Re...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Weather very up and down. Could be 0 tomorrow morning. Was 18 the other day, and sunny. Seasonal average is 13-14/6. Forecast for most days is about that. Had to put the heating back on, but then having to turn it down sometimes. Being able to see the temperature in lodger's room on my phone is very...

Re: Self Protection Online.

One thing I have been doing recently is updating passwords to secure ones. I was scared to let Firfox generate them in case it lost them. But my iphone now usually volunteers to save them as well, and if it doesn't, I know how to update it on my mac, which then updates the phone. It's a huge pain. I...

But can Sumo be used on wet materials? From what I can gather, CT1 and Sumo are similar in many ways (I have read a review comparing them), but that page doesn't say Sumo can bond to wet surfaces or under water, and the review didn't mention it either. I've not looked at the Dow Corning, but obviou...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

This may be of interest to some people. I found a brand of silicone sealant you can use on wet surfaces, even under water. It is called CT1. It comes in a range of colours, and is about £15 a tube on ebay. Normal silicone is about £8, sometimes a bit cheaper. Obviously this could repair a leak in th...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Not much, been stocking up the food store, still got space for more. I was waiting til I'd used up some pasta bake sauce and pasta. Pasta bake sauce wouldn't really work in a shtf come to think of it. Replaced the mini sunscreen in my emergency grab bag. Went out on the bike, second ride of the year...

Cheers, will bear that in mind

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Question to the veg growers. I always worried that cats might do their business in my veg patch, which is a raised bed. So I covered it with a net on a frame. But that was a real pain. Is it likely, or rare? What are the consequences? I might try again, probably next year. I took the frame and net ...
