Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9

Added to the fire prevention prep today it's all well and good having fire extinguishers but what if your not about when something goes wrong... Like most preppers outbuildings they are chock full of "stuff" from tools to fuel and the risks associated with storage and everyday life from a...

Re: Permaculture In Existing Woodland

Quick update on this. The Larch trees are all now down, and the majority of the timber is being removed next week. After that I'm going to see what effect felling all of those trees has had on the weather. It will have increased the amount of sun in some areas, but possibly also affected shelter fro...

Re: Permaculture In Existing Woodland

Thank you for the replies. I know I'm asking questions that probably no one really knows the answer to! Some great links and resources there, thank you. I've done some reading, but there are some there that I've not seen before. I did think about selling up, but I've decided not to as 1. I love the ...

Permaculture In Existing Woodland

It looks like there are several permaculture fans on the forum, so hopefully I'll be able to get some advice here. I have a few acres of woodland that was part of a Larch plantation 40-50 years ago. The Larch trees are still standing, and are huge, but they are now in an area infected with the P Ram...

Re: Degraded stocks of Passata.

My prepping stash for tomatoes tends to be in the form of seeds rather than tins/tetrapaks. I've also had problems with them going off in the past. That does mean that I only get tomatoes through the growing season, but I can live with that. Since trying to become more self sufficient with food, I e...

Re: Green as grass new member.

Hi! As others have said, a first aid kit is always a really useful thing to have. Don't just buy a first aid kit and stash it away somewhere though. Open it up, look what's in it, read how to use all of the things now. You don't want to be reading instructions when someone's pouring blood everywhere...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9

For me this week's prepping mainly involves the self-sufficiency and food growing side of prepping. I've been planting seeds for some of this year's vegetable crops, most of which are heirloom varieties saved from last year. Some in the greenhouse until it's a little warmer outside, and others that ...

Hi all and thank you for the welcomes :) Looking forward to getting to talk to you more. First Post Introduction

Hi All I'm a new member to the forum, but not a new prepper. I've always liked to be fairly self-sufficient in everything I do, and prepping fits fairly naturally with that. My prepping started many years ago as a teen who loved the outdoors. With the aid of a couple of books (SAS Survival Guide alw...
