Re: Advice on how to get organised
Hi Ben I’m also relatively new on here and don’t claim in any way to be an experienced prepper; I am, however, reasonably well-organised! I agree with you about the boards on here - I’ve saved myself a lot of time and money following the advice from those with experience. I just wondered about the ‘...

Re: Geiger Counters - Recommendations
Have never thought to buy one but given that Sellafield (Seascale), Heysham and BAE nuclear subs are all within fall-out radius of us, I might give it some thought.

Re: Value Range foods compared
I make my own using butter beans....Tube of puree is the basis for both. In fact beans don't need much of that. I'm going to try to grow cannellini beans this year as they are pretty taste neutral and make decent baked beans. They are fairly low in oxalates I use puree or just tinned tomatoes in oh...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Brilliant weather for the gardeners amongst us! Spent the morning planting/replanting the herb garden. We use a lot of fresh herbs and I like to do this job every spring. Some seem to do just fine left alone (rosemary, marjoram and mint) but others like a bit of tlc after the harsh wet and windy win...

Re: Candles
I buy a couple of non scented pillar candles every month with my supermarket shop and realised a couple of months ago that my supplies have completely run out as I like to sit by candlelight of an evening. I found some from that Swedish shop beginning with I, which were cheaper so ordered a dozen a...

Re: Preps for pets
Great posts - love that you’re thinking of the animals too! We’ve got crazy border collies here and we keep 5/6 15kg bags of their dry food going in rotation so would last them a while. Hadn’t thought of any kind of bob bag for them specifically  I always keep spare bowls/water/leads/towels/tr...
