brought, tree spinach, wild garlic, horseradish, and a sorrel (can't remember what one but it has a nice citrus taste) going for different herbs in the hope that most people won't know what they are.

Some tips: You should consider growing the horseradish in a large pot rather than planting it directly in your garden. It can be quite invasive and you will never get it out once it is in. The sorrel is probably Belleville - that is the most common type. Tree spinach is a very good one for guerrilla gardening - it will self seed readily, looks like a big weed and it is very productive. Just don't eat it raw - it contains oxalic acid which, in large quantities, will mess up your liver (but then so does rhubarb). Also, cook it in a steel pot (not aluminum).

Finally got my hands on some circular cutters for chopping theraband to size.

I would also recommend that if you have virgin media TV, watch the series on demand called "how cities work" which I think you will find very interesting on many different levels. I have watched the episodes on water, food and electricity so far. If you haven't got a 3D TV or cheap 3D converter box, then I would recommend just using it like a radio show and just listen to the voice over.

Even if power was down there are still wind up and battery powered radios which would make sense to listen to for news and information.

My neighbour has just erected a new 4 foot fence. Wish it had been 6ft., someone can easily climb over it into my garden.

I've therefore planted hawthorn, pyracantha and berberis along the edge. Anyone daring to climb over that is in for a prickly experience!!
