10 miles a day for people i assume dont go out on the brecons every week to train up their hiking is pretty impressive, especially as its a bit of a jolly, and especially with lots of kit, i say good effort :)

"Slow and steady"... I mean gosh WarPrepper, standard marching pace for most militaries is 20miles a day. This gent is carrying a 24 kilo BOB and also has his girlfriend along. I'd said that's pretty good going for Brecon to be honest. It's not like massive speed is really necessary in an SHTF scenario... Safety first, at 25 miles a day with those weights I've had mates being evac'ed on the second/third day with tendonitis etc. When food is a concern, conservation of energy should be balanced with speed, it's not necessarily a question of personal fitness...

Thank you buddy :-) it was literally that a laugh we were not going to survive but to get out in the country and practice a bit while having a laugh. And in my defence it is pretty hilly there!!

Wahay! ;) As I said, that's a great pace, any faster and the fun factor gets lost, and you're too tired to practice skills or appreciate the beauty of the area!

Can't wait to get out there again!! Flipping employment situation at the moment is horrendous! Come September I should be able to take a week off and *poof*...disappear!

We like to be able to chill and have a laugh hence a couple of bottles of spirits and some bbq food etc. We have a route and a time that we want to be there by but we like to enjoy ourselves as well!!
