Perpping Mentality
Re: Perpping Mentality
sorry, I'm in the other camp, the sooner and faster the general masses die off the better, sooner and faster because it will leave stuff lying about for the survivors to use, slow die off and a lot of stuff will be used up and we'll have to go further back to start again. i have heard a lot of (non prepping) people say they don't want to survive if it means a lowering of their living standards and other such guff so the sooner they shuffle off this mortal coil the better. i shant be prolonging their agony, and i shant be using my stores to prolong the life of someone who cant be bothered to store at least some basic supplies. i think most of them will be "cannon fodder" for the street gangs and other low life's that inhabit our cities these days.
Adapt or Die, there is no middle ground.

the state of the world and this country today, I don't think SHTF wont happen, its just a matter of time, and "when" will be sooner than anyone thinks. and as for people/neighbours I'm not bothered what happens to them one way or the other, it is not of the slightest interest to me.J23 wrote:
and maybe nobody will die, and shtf will never happen? it looks for me that you hate people and would like your neighbours to die

what do you think can happen? how do you see it?lonewolf wrote:the state of the world and this country today, I don't think SHTF wont happen, its just a matter of time, and "when" will be sooner than anyone thinks. and as for people/neighbours I'm not bothered what happens to them one way or the other, it is not of the slightest interest to me.J23 wrote:

because the way I see it is governments will cut spendings to minimum and that's it. No council houses, no benefits for parasites, nothing for free. and the world will keep spinning
Re: Perpping Mentality
the world might keep spinning but nothing will be the same as it was before.J23 wrote: because the way I see it is governments will cut spendings to minimum and that's it. No council houses, no benefits for parasites, nothing for free. and the world will keep spinning

Re: Perpping Mentality
world keeps changing all the time, and even if it had better and worse days there are still people on earth.lonewolf wrote:the world might keep spinning but nothing will be the same as it was before.J23 wrote: because the way I see it is governments will cut spendings to minimum and that's it. Re: Perpping Mentality
and there probably always will be people on earth, but in the near future the numbers will probably be vastly reduced due to using up the earths resources.J23 wrote:

LW, I've mentioned I've thought you were naive before. If there is one thing in life I am sure of (apart from death and taxes ) it is that humans only have a limited window of opportunity here on planet earth and that it we screw up the opportunity, the window will close.
Pandemics/viruses and if you want to push it that far, zombie apocalypses. meteorite strikes, nuclear war, ice caps melting completely, alterations in the oceans currents , well, you get the gist of what I'm saying. All these things will be dealt with by earth and earth will continue in some form or another. The nasty little parasites on the surface that are doing their best to upset her carefully calibrated ecological systems (that's us ) will be dealt with by earth. If we're lucky that means the air will be tolerable for our fragile lungs, radiation will be tolerable for our fragile organs, the water will be drinkable, crops we know how to harvest and can digest will continue to grow and disease that can kill us will remain at bay.
Do not think we will always be here.
We are humans and our humanity makes us fragile. not invincible

That's it.
You two have both been warned before, take a ban.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

This was a good posting, shall we get back to it??
I think to start with its overwhelming as you are aware of more and more "stuff" that you didn't think about before e.g I didn't think of water, not at all!! Shocking I know but being on here has opened my eyes big time to things I would not have thought of until I needed them.
I was a mini prepper when I joined here but now I know what are important prepps to survive.

In the case of water....
Stores...
Extra storage.. (Something extra to seal the bath plug hole as most leak slowly and cover it with? Few food grade water bottles such as what caravanner s use )
Purification filters eg cheap mill bank, Puritabs, life saver bottle charcoal, something to boil water with
Collection....
Rain water capture? Local stream?
Most stuff you will provably have or be able to convert / bastardise
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong
