Thanks Vespa, made for a good read. But I agree, I'm thinking of sending something like this out now, but it would need a bit of editing so it would be received by my locals more readily.

Can you think of any other negatives for not sending it out? In case I'm being hasty :)

The tweaking would also have to drop any threats or any allusion to to "hurting" people also, I think this is one of the reasons I'm hesitating sending any.

It worries me that it may be seen as strange/creepy/offensive/threatening and if it was linked to me in anyway maybe come back to haunt me, but I am paranoid regarding Opsec.

Haha fair enough, any particular reason for not including them?
Because it's like painting a great big target on the front of your house.

Even if you 'get on' with your neighbours, it doesn't mean you can trust them, what happens when they are down the pub, at a party, at work talking to others and let slip that the bloke across the road is a prepper and has 12 months supply of food and water for his family; a garden full of veg; chickens; hunting equipment; back up power etc etc etc.....

It's just never worth the risk.

I don't even know my nieghbours, a nod good morning to a few who like me have been in the street 25 years or more, but many come and go ( as do the police to some of them  ) I'm not sure some of them speak English anyway ;)
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

Actually I see your point. Hmmm food for thought.

I don't talk to my neighbours about prepping but a lot of them know we use the shed and garage for extra food due to the small kitchens we all have and a couple have started doing it too after saying never thought of that. Most are quite mature of age and moved in when the houses where quite new and are moving out to a much smaller place. We keep a few extra candles and bottles of water aside for them for power cuts and the like so included in preps not our discussions
Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!

Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?

Wouldn't spit on my neighbours if they were gasping with dehydration. If there's a zombie invasion I'll be putting signs on their gate saying 'zombie friendly house...stop here for a snack'. Most of my neighbours are civil enough but the next door pair...noooooo way. Middle class delusions of grandeur, selfish, know- nowt eejits who I dearly hope will come and ask me for something one day ...any day....

I get what you mean dizzy, I've got a few neighbours I really don't like too, under normal circumstances I nod and say good morning but wouldn't give them the time of day.

I might change my tack during a SHTF event though depending on how severe it was from trying to help them with a little to just playing the gray man and telling them I had nothing. Just for the fact that it's better not to make an enemy of someone.
