Hi, everyone

Post by Tizzie »

Firstly, I cannot compliment enough the introduction of uk Preppers. I am a lady in her early 60's, very active and still working. Whilst growing up I was taught to keep a winter store cupboard. When we were about to go into the year 2000 my husband pointed out that it would only take one small thing to go wrong on the national grid and that we should find an alternate way to cook as we are all electric. We bought a small generator which luckily is still in it's box and a stove which is worked by gas cylinders. I'm looking forward to joining in the discussions.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you have already a few preps in place.
We have several members of the MRE experienced generation, those who remember rolling blackouts, old fashioned pantries etc

Please make yourself at home. Your first 10 posts will need to be approved and the mods will do that as soon as they can.

Hi Tizzie and welcome, I am a similar age and grew up in the country with one bus a week and no shop apart from a travelling shop. Makes you more aware of what can go wrong.

Hello Tizzie, welcome! I'm a couple of years behind you in age, though I grew up with no awareness of prepping whatsoever  I'm making up for it now tho. I'm glad you're on board, enjoy looking around.
