Cereal/energy bars with long shelf life?

Hi, can anyone recommend good quality cereal bars/energy bars with a really good life span? They don't need to be especially cheap, I just want ones that will last for a long time to keep in my GHB at work. Thanks

I think the problem is, the manufacturers have no interest in long expiry dates - it goes against their own financial interests, they want you buying, eating or throwing away and then buying again.

Other than specific survival foods, most food will have a best before date of about 18 - 24 months, but that doesn't mean it can't be eaten after 5 or more years, but if it's in your GHB, just get stuff you like and rotate it....

Not a massive life on them but I bought a box of 40 Nature Valley mixed cereal bars, best before 9ctober 2015, currently half price in Costco. They aren't my OH cup of tea, but I don't mind them.

24 months would be ok, if it was bbe Oct 2016 I'd be happy with that, and after that rotate it like u say, but I don't want to have to do that too often as I don't eat them regularly because of cost, so I'll probably forget to do it!

You might be lucky and get 12 months, but its not likely

I buy whichever the supermarket has a deal on, it normally comes out around a quid a box of six.
Mind you, I quite often eat them for breakfast so rotating isn't a problem.

Nature Valley granola bars are nice, but I prefer the Tesco's own version ("Honey and Oat")
Theres also:
Go-ahead "Fruit bake" is a filled thing like a fig-roll and theres a garibaldi like one with a yogurt coating. Both are good
Kellogg's Nutri-grain (another fig-roll like one), quite a few different fillings available
McVite's Medley, several different types all based on their biscuit range.... Hobnobs are my #1
Cadbury's Brunch bar, this is a high chocolate one (Durr... )

All these are made with decent ingredients, are 32 to 40 grams and have a calorie content between 127 and 138.
The longest date I've got is 8 months and the shortest is currently 4

Lidl's do some nice tasting granola bars, normally about 15 month's on the BBE (if you go to the back of the shelf), but I would have no concern eating them 12 months or more after the BBE

Just looked in the pantry

Kirkland choc chip granola bars bought in july 14 with a year bbd .

And they wont last that long , yummy

On reflection, a year would be ok. For a GHB, it lives at my work and there is a good chance that over the course of 12 months I will have a need to eat something extra!

Looks and sounds very similar to the Gas pack Biscuits we fed to the dogs at one time. Came in large tins army rations from I don't know when.
They went well with a cup of tea so the dogs didn't get them all. LOL.
