General public wholesalers ?
Re: General public wholesalers ?
Another good one is Approved Foods (online) whop offer all sorts of foodstuffs at really cheap prices, the only snag is that most it near its End-Of-Life date, saying that, doesn't tinned goods last a lifetime if not dinted?

My local JTF (Fenton - Stoke On Trent) now accepts mere mortals as members. I was in there the other day and to be fair.......I was like a kid in a sweet shop. Unfortunately it was Christmas shopping rather than prep shopping........but I could seriously spend some cash in that place, both in terms of food stuffs and tool supplies etc.

Re: General public wholesalers ?
That Approved Food website looks great!
It seems that it sells items approaching or beyond their 'best before' date, which is only an guesstimate by the product manufacturers as to the when the quality of their food starts to drop off, and its usually down to flavour and nutrition starting to fade. Also these dates come with a big margin for error.
They've even got nice big limits on the amount of an item you can buy for bulk-buyers like us.

I use approved foods too. As mentioned with other outlets some things can be dearer so again check out prices before hand. Also keep an eye on the weight of stuff you are buying and try to get the load as close to its maximum as possible to avoid the postage uneconomic and also keep a eye out for their offers that they do every so often.
Re: General public wholesalers ?
I know theyre not a wholesale shop as such but there are often some good bargains.
I've just been out shopping and there's a good price on sugar from Iceland £3.30 for 5Kg (only the larger stores)
Farmfoods are selling Custard and Rice Pudding @ 50p each instead of £1.05.
They also sell 10Lt Veg oil for £9.95.
[EDIT]
I almost forgot, those big pies in a tin, Princess Minced beef & Onion/Chicken for £1 each.

I wonder if Approved Food are owned by B&M as pretty much all the food is available is on sale in B&M.
