Hi all Lee here from Birmingham. Im new to prepping and started not long ago. Currently have 20l of water (Shop brought as read its better!) stored with some bags of rice, packets of noddles, tinned meat, veg and fruit. I also have a few other things. Ive slowed down my prepping due to my partner not wanting me to "waste" money on buying food just to store.
Im also in the middle of converting a cupboard in my room which is just full of junk in to a storing cupboard. Its about 6ft x 4ft x 4ft, which im planning to have my heavy stores on the bottom with lighter stores at the top. Ive also brought some under the bed type storage boxes which I plan to keep my stores in.
Hope I have not bored you to much!

Welcome Lee,
You got to start somewhere and it seems you have !
Like the way you are thinking ahead and planning your next moves for storing your supplies.
Our emergency food supplies are in our bedroom cupboard around the same dimensions as you mention. We worked out that we could easily fit 2 months worth of supplies in there for our complete family group should the worst happen calling for it's usage. (6 fit adults, 2 pensioners & 2 children under 7)
Bored not one bit lol.
Again, welcome and enjoy the forum.

Re: Hi from Birmingham
It's not wasted as long as you use it in rotation. AND, by the time you eat it, the same thing will have risen in price.itslee wrote:Ive slowed down my prepping due to my partner not wanting me to "waste" money on buying food just to store.
And welcome
My prepping consists of bugging out by bicycle so any comments are likely to be based on that scenario.
Re: Hi from Birmingham
Its a cupboard thats been built in to the wall over the stairs when the house was built many moons ago. So I need to watch out how much weight it can handle. Im 15stoneish and it can hold me. But im sure my supplies would be heavier. Im prepping for 3 adults and 3 dogs, but we buy bulk for the dogs anyways so always have that extra bag.Wulfshead wrote:Welcome Lee,

I just need to get the storage right to use it to my advantage. But if I ever out grow the cupboard we got another one under the stairs which could be used for just water.
And thanks for the welcome.
And yes Hoipoloi it will be rotated. But shes coming around slowly.
