Gone on to amazon and purchased a book "The Gerson Therapy" by Charlotte Gerson.

I hope that I can use its principles to help me (plus the knowledge I have gained from the vegan and raw vegan theories of health and disease and the things that I have studies in my course on Nutrition) to prepare me for health in life and later in life.

I consider this important because I have had a bad health history, I don't want to have a bad health future and on the basis that the health care industry in this country may go downhill as I get older (and history has given me sufficient reason to not trust the doctors with all problems, They are great for what they are great for, but for everything else I had better look elsewhere!) and I want to maintain my health.

Also I want to be able to help others in their health too.

And as I now have a good blender, a good juicer and my trusty westfalia dehydrator, I am pretty much set to use a combination of raw, vegan and generally healthy foods if I can find a balance between Gerson therapy and Vegan thinking.

I have already gone mostly organic.

Since then I haven't done much tbh. The one thing I have kept working at is my physical fitness. I'm 39 and was starting to put on a bit of weight, but have been managing to kit the gym twice a week at work even though I am crazily busy. I figure that I am gonna want to have all the strength and endurance that I can.
Without trying to sound like an internet warrior, 39 isn't that old mate, you're not exactly past it yet. I'm 46 and without trying to be an internet tough guy, your attitude is more important, you mention putting on weight but I see that as a 'self conscience' thing, I'm the best part of 20 stone (I admit, I'm carrying 1 or 2 ounces of lard  ) and I ain't going to win any foot races but I'm still strong although I realise I'm on the way down from my peak. You can be solid muscle but if you're not prepared to use it then its only good for scaring people in a SHTF scenario and desperate people will quickly suss you out. I'm not saying give up on being fit but what if SHTF when you're 80, you're going to react differently than you would now so don't think that you have to be Arnold Schwazenegger when you're young. For me prepping is being adaptable (and maintaining my boyish frame ;) ).

Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!

Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?

Tonight my lad (25) and me thought we should do a dry run at cooking out on a BBQ coal/wood mix.
The temperature was a stunning -1 degree outside on a dark evening and our beef stew cooked for 90 minutes, it was rather tasty and the beef was very tender.

and when the BBQ coals took over the smoke cleared and the stew was bubbling nicely.

All-in-all a very tasty trial run and one that we were very pleased with.
Father and son time at it's best :)

Well the winter kit has gone in the wife's car, although it's not quite finished, but I can add to it as I go. Mine's got the snow shovel and some water, the rest will have to wait but at least the wife will be OK. I knew it was gonna be a marathon rather than a sprint, but it'll keep me busy.

Done a bit of extra shopping under the guise of it being crimbo, extra bag of sugar etc. Oh yes extra torch/headlight batteries have also come. Just gotta sit back and wait till Santa comes now and brings me some more goodies for the winter kits.

I can't wait for the snow to come, and wipe the smug looks off certain members of the families faces. Hopefully they'll get stuck and have to call for help

Arzosah,
Cutting up food wise was done on a small plastic chopping board, which is perfect BOB size, just inside the doorway in that pebble-dashed utility room but could have been easily done on any surface to hand.
The wood was chopped up right there just out of shot.

It was cold and both my son and myself were trying out our CCS-95 jackets with hoodies on underneath. I decided that a pair of thermal long johns were the order of the day also. I was really quite warm but in a SHTF scenario around this time of the year more layers would be better, I am thinking my old MOD scootering parka with the badges taken off.

All-in-all it was a bit of fun with a serious side to it.

After January I will be working on a wood and charcoal fueled oven project with my son and will try that out.
If the SHTF then I wont care about the hunting laws but where I live I know I could put meat on the menu most days if not every day.

Loved the clear night sky with the shooting stars being aplenty, my son and I also having a laugh using the stars to identify the Pole Star for navigation at night.
All great practice and fun.

Heard a familiar kind of sound, the sound of a slingshot being fired. Popped my head over the fence and said hello to the young chap who was shooting. He had a nice home made piece designed off one that Joerg Sprave did on his youtube channel. Nice therabanded one too. I really should get back to my shooting too.
