I have had this copy of Alas Babylon for years, and only just got around to reading it as m I had run out of reading matter. Well, what a story! Set in Florida in the late 50's a small community is affected by a nuclear strike on the USA.
Although dated it does realise the deprivation, injury and illness, and shortages that might occur after such a cataclysmic event. It has made me look at my own storage and the holes in it! Well worth a read.

Alas Babylon is a classic and a preppers bible along with Lights Out by David Crawford.

This is one of my favourite books. It highlights the mistakes people make with regaurds to stockpiling as well as being a fantastic read.
