Rapeseed or wild cabbage
Was visiting the North Yorkshire coast recently and I noticed a brassica growing wild all over the place... I'm not expert but it looks like rapeseed. Anyone tried eating it or collecting the seeds for oil? Or using the root? Unfortunately it doesn't grow where I live on the west coast - pity cos it looks like a very handy forage option.

Perfectly edible. It features also in 'Wild Food' by Roger Phillips. Rape is one of those things that will keep popping up in the margins of fields virtually forever.

Thanks! I picked up a few seeds and might try planting it around my front garden - if it grows wild then it must be pretty easy to grow as a veg!
