I've got myself some basic hammocks but never tried them out as i didn't have the carabiners and line to go with them and not sure which will do.
Can you chaps recommend any? Am not looking for something that will pull or cost as much as a 2 ton truck I know you can use para cord for the line but as it looks so thin my mind doesn't trust it...Or is there "thicker" para cord available?

I'd avoid using para cord as it stretches and shrinks when wet.
I use webbing straps, there is a Dave Cantebury video, ill try to find it, or i might have pictures?

i was quite lucky i found a bunch of carabiners at a boot sale, but too be honest, you could just use 10mm rope, the carabiner is only really there as a drip stop to stop water running down to the hammock.

Most climbing shops will have webbing and carabiners, even fairly thin webbing will be more than strong enough. I've held my own weight and "bounced" up and down on proper paracord, it doesn't look strong but the proper stuff have around a 500 lb loading (even I don't weight that much) The bouncing bit was to put some dynamic load on the cord, it held me no problem and I'm no racing snake.
Having just go into hammocks so to speak , I've done a few modifications to my DD hammock the frontline one , I have done away with the supplied hanging webbing and replaced both ends with demma slings (60cm) from DMM and fitted boa carabiners from DMM again , for the tree end I have used gripple 2.5mm galvanised wire with release nuts from grippple to. Had a wee swing at the weekend , and hopefully a full over night test when my sleeping bag and underquilt come from DD Hammocks.
