Are those the ones made from a coke can? They look really small, but I'm not sure about the alcohol as a fuel, there also seems to be lots of different ways of making one, some have double walls, other have fibreglass in them, I've no idea which is best. Does the fuel evaporate much?Jaeger48 wrote:Have you looked at the penny stoves? Preps this week have been medical and pharmaceutical.
Been stocking up on pain relief, anti-inflammatories and allergy stuff as well as checking the cold and flu stuff.
Got a load of clear tablet containers from ebay along with some sticky labels of the right size to keep everything safe and organised. So at least now when the supposed big freeze hits, i'll be well prepared for the local pharmacy not being open! In fact i won't have to go out at all if i get ill or injured as i'll be able to sort myself out without leaving the house!
And is it just me or is buying pain medication getting to be a bit silly? i mean one box of co-codamol? what am i going to do overdose on that?! or maybe cook 0.02 of a gram of meth?! I do wish the UK was more like Europe for getting over the counter meds...

"What? You've never covered yourself in Vaseline? I can feel it squelching in my boots..."
Classic.
Maybe my next prep will be covering myself in Vaseline... Y'know, just for science, or skincare, or something...

The weather has been carp today so I have used the time indoors to make a big batch of winter mash and Cauliflower cheese to add to the freezer.
Also made the Christmas cake today.

Burning the alcohol in the 'dish' heats the metal, which boils the alcohol in the main tank.
This pressurises the vapour which then burns hotter, heating your potful of WHY and the metal parts of the stove.
They're simple (no moving parts) and cheap..... Whats not to like?
Never put petrol or other mineral oil products in this type of stove

Hey ladies and gents hope all is well.
Been Spending more time pepping recently think the autumn and impending winter always make you re evaluate your preps and procedures Just that little bit more.
Got a few food preps i need to pick up over the next month in between Christmas shopping.
Got my eye on a couple of urinal bottles i have seen on the internet that seem quite practical. (not very glamorous i know but 100% truthful )
Been reading up a lot on dentistry again recently but more of the natural remedy side of stuff.
I don't buy a lot into what a lot of these natural remedy books say but some areas make sense and knowledge is supposedly power right, So i thought that field was certainly worth an exploration.

Having food, water and shelter are not a right.
They are a responsibility.
So make it your priority.

Before you spend your hard earned have a look at any fabric conditioner bottles you have in the kitchen, most of these have a wide top (no idea why) but they work great, I keep one in the car.tolerance wrote:Hey ladies and gents hope all is well.
