Hi all! I'm a new prepper from Southport and I love this site. Been lurking for a while. Love the tips and hints Not saying I can add a lot to discussions as I am a complete beginner, but I do enjoy reading all the valuable info on here.

Hello and welcome!
Southport, so a lot of ground round there is quite low lying ... are you prepping for floods? What's at the top of the list for you?
Great that you've been reading awhile and decided to join in - there's always loads to learn.

Arzosah: I'm pretty near the coast, so don't regularly get a lot of flooding, not like the farm land around here, anyway. We've earmarked a few places with family that we could reach in minutes. Couple of storeys up should anything big happen. They aren't exactly prepping, but are coming around to our way of thinking, slowly .
Re: Hello
Hi Decaff! I've started stocking up on tins, water treatments, a certain amount of (legal) defence equipment and odds and ends like camping stoves and such. My biggest concern, by far, is security. I'm in a ground floor flat. On one side is a courtyard with buildings on 3 sides, a 12 foot fence on the fourth. So that's secure from the casual looter. But two sides have huge windows onto public pathways. They keep me awake at night sometimesDecaff wrote:Hello and welcome to the forum.
How are you going to start with your preparations? What is your main concern?
Re: Hello
Good start! Food, water, means to cook and warmth! I live in second floor flat so slightly different security issues, only one way in or out for the windows, if they open I would look into sensor alarms and good strong locks, film over the glass in case of breakages.angeuk wrote:Hi Decaff! Behind every great man is an even greater woman. She carried you, raised you and made you who you are.

I'm thinking of storing wooden covers for them, but wonder if that would make the place stand out. I'll look into the security film though. Thanks.Decaff wrote:Good start!
