Hello

Post by PrepperSte »

Hi I am new to this, I have been reading alot recently on when the SHTF, but it all seems to be American, web sites I have looked at and twitter seems to link to usa too. Can you recommend any Uk support sites/twitter that would help me know where on earth to start, so I can learn to look after my family if it happens. Ps I am in area 10.
Newbie needs direction please
Big thanks

Hello and welcome to the Forum. :)

What type of SHTF are you most worried about?
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Hi its mainly loss of power UK wide (EMP) resulting in loss of transport, comms, inability to gain food for the family etc.
I feel I have a million skills to learn that I have never thought of...
Cheers

Hello and welcome. Get yourself a cuppa and sit down and read your way through the many topics on here. There truly is everything from growing food, keeping livestock, making your own tools, clothing, food preserving, safety and first aid and everything in between.

A notepad and pen would be a great help to start taking down information you find the most helpful and to get you started on this new life you're choosing.

Good luck and get stuck in!! Oh, and don't forget to keep calm and breathe :D

I have a folder on my desktop where I copy and paste things, I've got different topics in it and tidy things up from time to time, if you're copying large chunks over you sometimes get duplicate info, better too much than not enough though. :D

Oh, and welcome to the forum PreppperSte.

Big thanks, I have spent the day running through alot of articles
There's some fantastic information here.
I have started storing tinned food, I am not a shopper but I enjoyed piling it in
the trolley, strange feeling but felt I could have carried on, I have bought a couple of first aid bits and paracetamol, savlon and started to list it all in a book.
Gonna count up what I have at the weekend and try to work out how long it would last.

Learning basic skills to start a fire etc is next I think.

But a list is a good idea as at least I can plan some me time into family schedules.

Every time we go to the supermarket we pick up a couple of packs of brufen or paracetamol, its handy stuff day to day anyway.
