Hey chaps,
I've seen these advertised on TV a few occasions and ebay/amazon are selling quite cheap.

Has anyone got any experience with these?
Myself I'm primarily interested in the USB charger function. Am looking along the lines of that and a solar panel with a USB connector (Something I already have).
Cheers

They look like they're worth a punt - especially with the USB charger. I was going to buy some new eneloops but I can't see any bargains around at the moment, might try some of these instead.
I've got a gripe with USB at the moment. I'm totally invested in USB outputs and Micro USB charger cables, but now it looks like everything is going to move to type C ports.
It's betamax, cassette, CD, DVD, HD-DVD, Blu-ray... It's happening again! Bastards.

That seems to be the way of it, I suppose the way round it is to invest in enough infrastructure to future proof your supplies. Even if its just enough to skip an electronic generation it will probably save you a fortune, especially as a weirdo hoarding preppery type. I've not heard of these 'type C ports' so cheers for the heads up, I am quite heavily invested (weirdo hording preppery wise) in USB so its something I'll have to think about.dangerman wrote:They look like they're worth a punt - especially with the USB charger. Just thinking about it, I'm sure there will be some clever Chinese fellows who're happy to sell their wares on the internet who will come up with a USB to C port cable. Stand down from panic stations.
Edited to add, after a quick look around 'tinternet I've found this, dunno if its going to be a 'genuine' one size fits all or not but we'll see I guess.

A friend has Betamax and Philips video 2000 video recorders along with a laserdisc player! He also has reel to reel tape players and 8 tracks....Just because something is obsolete it doesn't render it unfit for purpose.

Re: GP Recyko Batts and USB Charger
For what it's worth many of the mains to usb charger plugs (the cheaper ones usually) are really dodgy, many have almost no separation between mains and low voltage sides of the circuit, and it's not uncommon to find the metal parts on the usb end live.
Just a heads up.
