Looking for cheap or free MRE to try for a youtube review

Post by ellsgold »

I know its a big ask but I'm looking at starting a prepper/bushcraft/survival youtube channel and I was thinking of doing an MRE taste test for it however I'm struggling to find and real military MRE's for a reasonable price or in stock, if anyone could help me out with this it would be much appreciated, thank you in advance :)

I've approved your post but be aware preppers tend to be quite cautious about members who want to start a YouTube channel.

Please ask permission before using any of the material on this forum.

As regards the question about MRE's. I am sure some of our members will be able to point in the right direction towards somewhere you can purchase them from.

Local army surplus stores... Saves on postage my man knocks them out £12-£20 depending on MRE type (24hr pack) date and condition of box etc

Don't obsess with army mod stuff look what we found pouched in the super markets and BM bargains for about £3 Max you get a decent pouch of scran
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

There are lots of reviews on youtube too, do you wand to review a total 24 hour pack or just the meal pouches, there are lots of pouches on ebay, yes the omletts are nasty unless you use them in something, but in my experience you can tell the good ones because there are around £5 each (my fav being bean and tuna pasta) always £5!

I'd definitely subscribe if you did a video on how to make Biscuits AB edible. I've got a pack or two you can try, I might even have some Biscuit AB with added Flies.

(only those over a certain age will get that)

One of the guys on there has a YouTube channel as well, think he's called SteveMRE1989, the dude eats a piece of hard tack from the American civil war as well as some newer things (from Second World War onwards) that looked bad enough to kill a horse, he wasn't daft enough to eat the beans and franks out of a tin so blown that it looked like a rugby ball but I'm still amazed he's alive, guy must have guts like a rubbish skip.

I heard he was hospitalised as a result of trying a Biscuit AB. It wasn't so much the eating.....
