Welcome! I'd second what's been said about neighbours vs prepping group - and if you're thinking of people you meet on here, then to be honest existing members need to know you a bit better before meeting up in person. Deffo sounds like you're going to fit right in tho :)

I like the idea of guerrilla gardening too - as well as foraging of existing stuff.

As far as first aid goes - I'd say *not* to get a kit, unless you've priced it all carefully. It can be really expensive to do it that way, and what you get is minimal. After experience a couple of years ago with a cyst, I'd say that we need a lot more dressings and bandages than we think, and if the NHS goes on the way it is, self care is undoubtedly going to become more important.

As for recommendations - yes, tweezers, and also tic tweezers, nit combs, really good first aid scissors, that sort of thing. An eye bath. A water filter. Disposable gloves.

HTH.

One thing that's often overlooked in a first aid kit is a dental repair kit, I'm sure someone has mentioned it on here before but I know it often gets forgotten about, most of us will know just how unpleasant a lost filling or broken tooth can be, they're only temporary repairs but anything that can take the edge off until you can get to the dentist is worth the few quid they cost in my book.
That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.
