I'm personally more concerned about terrorism than war, where I live would be considered a pretty soft target so might be more attractive to a nutter (or group of nutters) than London or a military target.

You see alot of people say that but think about it if your a fully paid up member of the nutters brigade then best avoid London, so many old bill marked and unmarked many armed to the tooth with some serious firepower, then you can be fairly certain they would be on top in a very short time frame, why not move out of London to maybe Bedfordshire and pick a shopping centre up that way, sure plod will get there in the end but just take longer, mind you with London traffic just going a mile can take 40 mins so who knows, but i agree terrorism is more of a worry for myself rather then the big bang "so to speak"

I don't think its even remotely tin foil hatty to think that something big is happening. The will of the people has changed, there are issues in the economies and political systems across the world. Things are really complicated.
But its impossible to say whats going to happen. pandemics might make progress to heal the worlds issues harder, climate change will definitely (over the coming decades) create some issues.
Global war? Maybe. There was one guy who I saw do a documentary on the idea that the third world war was already happening and it was the second half of the 20th century. Most of which was by proxy though wars in the middle east and much of it was based on race. It was an interesting theory that WW3 would be done in drips and drabs rather than all in one go, but it was just (IMHO) a theory. One thing we can say is that the world was in conflict and still is.
I don't have the ability to prepare for global thermonuclear war, but I can try and adjust to the changing world that we live in.

I would add the serious situations with antibiotics failing. Already this year, 2 people have died where no drugs have helped, and an old women was once of the first to die in September last year, where she had an infection which was immune to every different drug (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01 ... ntibiotic/)

But my personal predication, is that when it kicks off, it will start with another financial collapse in the US, this time, because of car loans.

I had thought the threat of nuclear war was quite distant, but a heavy dose of Trump thrown into an Iranian/North Korean cocktail could seriously change that
