No problem if you don't mind them being different lengths.

Krav Maga was developed for the Israeli special forces, it was designed to be lethal from the ground up, that's not generally how it's taught in the UK but don't be under any illusions, it's not a sport, it's to end a fight fast, I would say don't get too bogged down in one fighting style though, it can lead to group think and overconfidence, some of what is taught in EVERY martial art is nonsense and Krav Maga is no exception, although I'm not slating it, it is one of the better ones for self defence purposes, not saying don't train it by any means, I'm just saying to look outside it too.

So is there a version for the over 50's? A sort of " Uncle Buck" self defence, because I'm not a fast runner ;)
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

I recommend Ameri-do-te, the deadliest street fighting style ever developed.

But for true Uncle Buck defence you need to learn golf....

Im aware of the origins of K-M but as you say, thats not whats taught in this country where the focus is to get you out of a situation...not in the dock. The problems with following the F-S system from a book is, well I already said. Personally I come from a military family and background and was taught F-S as a child and youth and have found it a heavy burden to carry. I am not grateful to my elders in the least for that.

But Jamesy, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I just wanted to expand a little on what I had said before for the sake of clarity ;)

I managed to pick up an old Rapid Hand Drill for £2 today at a second hand shop. Will need a good clean and some WD40 and I'll also have to buy some drill bits for it, but it was a bargain. Easily 50 years old and will probably last another 50 too. Dead simple design, made in England, no power needed. What more could you ask for?
