I stumbled across this site -

...which has some handy info on FAKs and all the way up to more serious, trauma care. Obviously this does not take precedence over TRAINING and one should be aware of ones limitations before playing doctors and nurses

Seems like a sensible approach. May do something similar, scale down the kit and keep the basics to hand

On the dental front ( a much overlooked area) I came across this book, "Where There Is No Dentist", which is highly spoken of -

again, training is the best bet but when all else fails, reviews by professionals say that this book is a very good resource for teaching lay people.
