we live, dig and grow on clay! so OH (who does all the digging :twisted: ) would not want to dig below ground for a root cellar.
I have considered the garage although its dry we have rodents so nothing is safe in there. They even chewed through the fishing gear!
so back to the drawing board!

We have no clay here Sue but its a very wet country Scotland :mrgreen: My soil is poor and dries out fast.

You could do a "clamp" Sue, Clay needs tons of TLC, and horse muck with straw, so get over to the Quedgley area and the equestrian centre and get what you can carry from their HUGE pile and get hubby to dig that in, also add lots of bales of peat, Irish moss peat was dug in on a yearly basis at my parents place, along with a heck of a lot soil conditioner.
