Meh,

They are not meant for someone sat at a computer screen. They are for a fighting man/women who is burning calories at a high rate.

The rules for the IJ Review challenge were simple: Leon had to agree to eat nothing but MREs for 21 days, and he could only eat two of them per day.

2 X 21 = 42 Meals
3 x 21 = 63 Meals

so a total of 21 meals missed or 7 days worth of meals. Great test
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Reminds me of Crocodile Dundee when he shows his girlfriend some grubs and beetles, she asks "you eat these" and he replies "yeah, tastes like sh*t though".

Pseudonym you're not the first person to point out that they are meant for someone wiith a more active lifestyle than a sedentary worker so it's perhaps not the best of tests. Plus even military don't recommend using these for extended periods. It comes at a time when in another thread we see the brexit boxes being sold and is perhaps a lesson that it's worth noting that that such things shouldn't be relied upon 100% . Probably also a lesson for the average person that a few tins of regular beans or pasta would be a much better bet as well as cheaper too.
With regards to the taste , while some items may be an acquired taste there exsists a group of people who take great delight in eating MRE''s as a hobby. I've eaten a few but only very occasionally but have generally enjoyed them.
