I started with the best of intentions on this, but its the kind of thing thats perfectly understandable when you've got examples in front of you, and the lecturer's holding them and then giving them to you, but without that ... I'm sorry, it doesn't go into my brain in any decipherable way
So in my set up I have a range of items allowing me to swap data between tech. Starting with normal USB sticks, they were cheap and held lots of data. These are good for some tablets and laptops, PC's etc. To make these accessible for mobile phones I bought a number of these:
https://thepihut.com/products/usb-to-mi ... 0QQAvD_BwE
These go in the end of the USB stick (normal) and convert it to a micro USB attachment.
Oh! Now, this little gadget, I like
That goes on the end of a normal USB drive connector to turn it into a micro USB connector, yes? I've been using flash drives with normal USB connectors for a lifetime, so this would certainly help with my phone. I could buy a couple of these, one for use, one for backup, no problem.
That ... I don't quite get how *I* could use that, I don't see how that functions. U
It's all related to money but technology is improving and I'll soon be switching to these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AreTop-Memory- ... 91&sr=8-10
These offer total flexibility. I have something similar, a stick with USB 2.0 (the normal ones) to USB C (the curvy round ends that modern mobiles are switching to) but I need my adaptor for some of my tech that uses micro USB's.
This looks **amazing** I love this. It can understand older tech, its futureproofed, its fairly sizeable (64G - 2 of those more than cover my whole laptop contents, though now I've set my camera to take 4MB photos, I'm taking 20G a year. Not to worry.) My external hard drive is 250G I think, plenty for now, but its still quite heavy - if I had to get out of Dodge, as they say, 3 of these round my neck, and I'm sorted, I'd hardly feel it.
In addition to these (yes, it does get complex keeping on top of it which is why I'll be swapping to the one above
) I have these:

These you have to be careful with, they are good for charging purposes, they work everytime. For swapping info however, some are a little temperamental.
I'll let that one pass me by, thank you! Anything that a knowledgeable person describes as temperamental would baffle me completely. It may baffle *you* that I move in circles where I'm the techy one
If you have the budget, switch to the multi all-in-one USB stick, I intend to!
Thats the AreTop one, yes? I love that. Will that help me with the original problem of expanding my kindle? I've been looking at new kindles, and this one is great:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JQRYRJF/ ... UTF8&psc=1
£60, 32GB, expandable to 512GB with micro USB (someone would have to tell me what microUSB to buy, though!)
Have a search using the descriptions in the links above as there are lots of options that fit many budgets. Any other questions, please let me know. I try and log on daily so will keep checking.
So sorry about this! But very grateful you and pseudonym are following up. Next post (last one) is what I can see my way to buying.
