But what scares me is the new madrid fault in amercica thats playing up at the mo. If this was to happen there would be no southwest left due to hugh waves, thats a real concern for me.
i must confess i had not heard of the new madrid fault so i just looked it up on wiki.
if im reading it correctly its in the middle of the united states so i cant see where the risk of high waves comes from.

Another one.....!!!

There something definitely going on hee (its not my fault)!! Althoug it is good to see more users coming joining up from Kernow... Welcome Abbie!! :D :D

To be fair, youre reasons for thinking about moving out of the county are not that viable from my point of view, Hobo posted a sound piece of advice, prepping in realistic terms is more and more about living through current climates and being ready for the emergencies in life. dont get me wrong, it also means we have a heads up about more disaster type scenarios, but like CC said, the probability of a massive, world changing event happening are pretty small compared to the day-to-day events. Not too say it will never happen, but if a tidal wave hit Cornwall, depending on your location, its not all that bad - just prep by having a boat to go foraging with!!

Its good you've woken up and look at the world with practical eyes, but try and weigh up all the pros and cons before shipping out across the border!! Think of migration routes out of the county and where they lead, mass populations in towns and cities vs less populated rural areas, prevailing wind directions if youre thinking of airborne or nuclear scenarios (down here the wind blows SW mainly so unless something happens in the Atlantic or Lands End, we might have a good chance of safety ;) ), access to provisions from main suppliers, etc, etc.

I'll get my coat now!!! Where abouts in the county are you roughly Abbs??

Hi

The new madrid fault is part of the atlantic plate, if that shifts they say it will effect us.

Hi Cornwall/Devan would be my first choice to head for if there was no option to stay were i am,
you haven't mentioned where your info cam from so i guess its a lot of research and then trying to make sense of it all if i my make a observation or two
the big fear in the USA is the new Madrid fault splitting the country in two leaving a new in land see possibly three miles across my thoughts are this would be mostly by ground sinking not half of America moving three miles closer to the UK even if it did when the Atlantic plate hits the mid Atlantic ridge where it sinks under our plate it would cause a tsunami headed back towards the US with a smaller kick back headed towards the UK but that's just my opinion on info iv gathered, one thing i have found is the earliest detailed info that so much of this doom porn is based on is from the Zeta report/Zeta talk who got this information from telepathic communications from aliens if your happy with this info just remember she claims Cornwall Wales and Scotland are the only safe havens as the rest of the UK will sink into the North sea

happy days billy

Thanks for the info biller, I googled it and gave up after looking at a few pages of conspiracy stuff...lifes way too short

Mod Hat on...

Just as a reminder for everyone (including myself)

Scoobs announced a few weeks ago we dont do the conspiracy stuff on here so can we let this subject die a natural death please before it turns into a full blown debate, it gets in the way of prepping and also makes us look like so many of the other junk science/conspiracy sites on the web. There are plenty of conspiracy sites around if that is what people want to discuss but there are only a very few UK based prepper sites and we don't want to drive serious preppers/potential new members away by filling the forum up with junk science/conspiracies.

That said, prepping for various natural events is sensible and obviously ok on the forums.

Mod Hat off :D
