Water Storage/Carriers

Evening All.

Since moving out of cardiff into a bigger place, my salary goes a bit further living way outside a city, thus meaning being able to spend more on preps.

Ive been thinking of water and food storage when I came across these heavy duty water carriers - cheapest price I have found for unissued items.

However I also found these BCB International ones which are slightly different for £9.00 more.

Long term I would be looking too get one of these http://www.ampulla.co.uk/IBC-CONTAINERS/c-1-120/ - however has anyone got any of these water carriers/IBC container and how do you rate them?

I have half a dozen of those as in Ronnie Sunshine's site but they cost £5.50 each, brand new, from an ex-government shop I drove by one day in Essex (not my usual haunt) and I have seen them around at a similar prices elsewhere.

They are bomb proof. There are photos of them around being thrown off of water towers onto concrete and I have been told they were designed for palette air dropping without a parachute.

They are made by a number of manufacturers. Mine are made by 'Osprey' and 'PP'.

The 'issued' black ones, much the same as the BCB jerrycans are excellent! An events company I know of use them all the time for water replen at events, they last forever and are pretty bombproof. If you have the room, the bigger tanks linked are great for storage... look around farms in your area, you'll see a few for cattle and also for red diesel sometimes!! Theres a few around my area (when on recce's) that I have noticed just sitting around gathering mildew!!

They could be buried in the garden but a pump would obviously need to be used or just raise them up and use gravity.

DONT FORGET to add water sanitiser for long term storage!!

Thanks for the replies.

Im looking at the smaller ones for in the house and the IBC out my back - as I have a smallish patio yard, will definately need to hide it some way without it screaming, coming and look at what Ive got.

Someone was selling the 1,000 litres on Ebay. They were only down the road and they were £15 each but I don't have room at the moment so I had to pass up the offer.

I was gutted as they are perfect for storing water.
