Re: Sources in YOUR Area.
Can someone tell me what 'womble' means, please? 'Cos all I can picture in my mind is Uncle Bulgaria and Tobermorary...

"making good use of the things left behind"
eg, This morning at work i "wombled" a copy of the SAS handbook from a skip full of books that were going to be pulped

I used to live near a tip when I was growing up and we used to Womble all sorts of good stuff, (things that the every day folk leave behind).
I remember getting a working Grandfather clock, plus things like Stereos and other electronic devices plus tons of bikes and things, we even found an unopened box of expensive cigars. We could spend hours there and it was before all the tips had council workers there.
We had the best go karts in the area from all the prams people through away.
There was just one guy running the whole place and we knew when he went for a brew or his lunch. Recycling had never been heard of back then so I like to think of myself as an invator in the world or recycling.
Just call me Tomsk.
They were some of the happiest days of my life.
Be lucky

Well today I went out with the girlfriend for a drive and done some scouting for resources of the natural kind on my doorstep.
I went onto the A4107 that leads from Afan Argoed to Treorchy known to locals(im now one) as the Bwlch Road.
See the attached pics showing the view at the top of mountain.

There is a lot of forestry commission land here and at the bottom of the valley there is a river, the plus side of living where I do now is that I have this location on my doorstep and if I need to run for the hills I know that I have roaming untagged sheep, roaming wild deer and there are fish in the river.

Re: Sources in YOUR Area.
Very nice views!
Regards local sources, wtshtf I have a camping / military shop round the corner (30 seconds walk) so would stock up on anything that I would need and then on my way back I have a small local grocery shop.
If I need to bug out I have my spot where I would head in the car (about an hour drive) - quite a lot of trees, fresh water and an open space.
