In my line of work we regualry have to test electrical circuits in houses. One of the functions on test kit is a megger were you send voltage down line to make sure insulation of cables are ok, on my test kit you can send upto 1000 volts down the line of the cables. Its always a runing joke when you can to zap the appretiance it does make them jump when there not expecting it, I had done to me it was not that bad but does make you move and shout words the should really not be used in public. I heard story once of one appretaince getting duct tape to a metal chair and shock with one of the old wind up ones used to shock him it took about 30 secounds to recharege it and shock him again might seem bit cruel but its just one things that happens everbody who appretiance goes throught it.

They also use the ones that fire like a gun and penetrate clothing, as opposed to the hand held ones.

Having said that, the scene in "The Hangover" with the tazer is hilarious.

Be lucky (and law abiding, except on days ending with a "Y") ;)
A compliant person doesn't get tazered.
You mean sheeple?

Wouldn't advise importing tazer type stuff from abrioad. Customs sometimes know what they're doing. A tazer is classed as a firearm in the UK. Importing firearms could get you into quite a lot of doodoo.
It’s a bit of a anomaly, but yeah tasters and C.S gas/pepper spray are covered by section 5 of the firearms act rather than the acts dealing with flick-knives, knuckledusters and other ‘offensive weapons’.

From what I’ve seen though the punishments handed out for possession of either of these are nothing like as severe as those for section 5 firearms. In almost all cases people involved get away with a suspended sentence and a bit of community service.

As I once saw someone point out on another forum though, this might not be as trivial as it sounds. The punishment itself is little more than a slap on the wrist, but you still end up with a criminal record, which at some point will come back to bite you in the arse......

Unfortunately complient people get tazered too.

Even peaceful protesters get trunchoned, I've seen the evidence. No matter how complient you are, if the person arresting you wants to tazer you, there isn't a lot you can do about it. Well you could roll round on the floor and wet yourself whilst drooling like a baby but you will probably do that anyway. ;)

Just as a passing point of interest to anyone tempted to carry illegal weapons.

I have been stopped and searched by the police twice for doing nothing more than walking home through a middle class area of town and minding my own business. I politely protested but was aggressively threatened with arrest for obstruction so I requested stop forms although I know they stay on record for 7 years or so. If it happens a third time I will not only be writing to the chief constable but my local MP etc etc as I consider myself a law abiding citizen and should not be stopped and hassled and treated like a criminal if I have done nothing wrong. Had I been carrying anything illegal I would have been in trouble.

It seems many (not all) of the police these days are too intent on stopping and hassling law abiding citizens while actively avoiding hassling the scroats and scumbags who make life miserable for everyone else. I know some good and very decent police officers, but there appears to be an aggressive groupthink creeping in. They certainly aren't winning many popularity contests at the moment anyway.

Sad times indeed.

I would not advise this to everyone but if you have time on your hands and want to try an experiment, you can do the following.

Say you do not consent to be searched.
When asked for your name, say you are exercising your right to remain silent.
If they arrest you and caution you, at the end, when they ask if you UNDERSTAND, say NO.
If they arrest you, say you will not put up any resistence and will gladly go with them. Do not agree to fingerprints or a DNA sample.
DO NOT ARGUE OR KICK OFF!
Be polite and courteous at ALL times.
Do not be a smart arse.

Even if you have something illegal on your person all they can do is hold you for a few hours and then let you go.

You might not believe this but they need your name, date of birth and they need your consent. Most people give their name and they get your consent when you say YES to the DO YOU UNDERSTAND question. A clever trick but most people do not know it.

Even if you have ID on you, they need YOU to confirm your name.

This does not work if you are arrested for a crime that has a victim as that means you have broken a LAW and not a statute.

When they release you, they might ask you to sign a form. Make sure to right in the box

UNDER DURESS

And then sign your name over it or above it.

Before people start jumping on me and saying this is rubbish I know for a fact this works as someone was arrested in a friends house who had drugs on them. By the way, the person whose house it was had no idea they had drugs on them and is very anti drugs.

The person with the drugs did exactly what I have told you and was released without charge a few hours later. All it cost them was a couple of hours in a cell. They got their drugs confiscated and walked free. Not even a caution.

If a crime has a victim it is a LAW (Theft, GBH, Vandalism, etc.)
There are only 4 LAWS
If a crime has no victim it is an act of parliament or a statute. (Parking ticket, Speeding, Possession of drugs for personal use, etc.)
There are over a quarter of a million Statutes

I do not condone breaking the law and if you do, you deserve everything you get.

Be lucky (and Lawful)
