Twitter prepping tool?

Post by The-Great-Nothing »

Hi all,

Based on the riot situations happening right now, and other fast changing events that may impact our lives, I have had a quick look into twitter, set up an account, added to iPhone and added a few none idiots.

Anyone got any thoughts / tips on using this method for up to date intel. (other than the fact there are lots of fools posting rubbish on there!)

Cheers

I'd like to know how to use Twitter too, haven't a clue what it's about but it sounds handy.

I don't add people, but use it for searching for info. Eg: londonriots (will generate lots of results) or location searches, e.g: hackney..pretty simple stuff but should be enough to get you going :)

as prep tool -useless.Why?Cos if it's seen to be used to conduct civil unrest,TBTB will shut it down-and don't think won't.It happened in the Arab Countries when they kicked off.

Jansman - I agree with you, but I think for lower-level times like now, it could be handy.

But yes, don't rely on electronic communications networks. They shut it down on 7/7 when I most needed it (luckily I'd found my girlfriend).

Hi all,

I found Twitter a very useful tool last night - to keep an eye on any events unfolding in my local area.

Added the police and local paper feeds - so at least the papers could check on the tweets posted by the police and confirm!

Found the search tool was also useful when searching for "<my town> riot" as per scoobies advise....obviously lots of fools, but I think it could offer a good heads up if anything was kicking off.

So as a free, simple and bang up to date source of intel...seems very useful indeed. As with all intel, in itself, it is not a perfect solution - but it can definately help paint the picture

Cheers
