Too right
Just started winterize the cars nice dry day I would say cold out but I've just got back off holiday to a warm island
All levels checked mine needs a drop of oil but I'll do that when I'm back at work on a flat area the camber of the street always makes it look low it's still got plenty in but I'll double check one lunch time ..
Tested batteries both showing good
Antifreeze tested mines -36 and wife's -40 (hers was replaced this summer when I did the cambelt and water pump)
Screen wash is currently -5°c but that'll get boosted as winter comes in by weekly top ups..
brake fluid is showing <1% water contamination which is fine
Just tyre pressures to check but wife's is getting 2x winters put on the back this week so no point till that's done.. and both cars have blooming tyre monitoring that'll come on thr first cold morning anyway

That's the boss lady's car just about fully prepped for winter bar the boot kit
Just about ready for her starting a new job next week (just in time our finances have taken a battering since August ) .. but the food stocks have helped provide a good cushion which next month will be fully restored .. Mrs A had taken up a volunteer roll at the food back which because of her position got her £10 a week voucher and well she's a smart shopper

Well I've had a steady weekend still recovering from a man cold I started a week ago
Done a bit of allotment work baited under the chicken coup and I'm guessing Roland rat is now suffering from gut rot ...... As it's taken about 100g of bait there's not a crumb left .... I'll give it a week and bait again and see what happens no point in baiting immediately after as the dead rat walking will just die fat....
Hit the inter Web and got the lad a pair of hightec snow boots for £6 and a mountain Wearhouse breathable waterproof ski (winter) coat for a tenner he's got coats but the red puffa type jacket he likes isn't waterproof for playtime at school
And 100x energiser AAA cells before I run out

AAA batteries ?, where do they disappear too ?.
We don’t use many but if we need 4 we can only find 3, if we need 3 we can only find 2,
yet we buy them 2 dozen at a time. I think we should buy 100

Reviewing and replacing some foods that havent been stored or rotated well. Milk, Yeast, Pulses, Oats, Flour are all in need of examination. Sadly some will be discarded. I know
I'm rather chuffed at my latest charity shop find. a 100m+ industrial roll of vacuum seal bags for £4. I'll be in vac packing heaven.

40kg of chicken feed / grain. So the bin is full before the cold weather sets in ...
Popped to Lidl grabbed milk and bread to top the freezer up both for if it snows / kids pack up next week /s
And some long life bake at home bread rolls for the same reason or I'll scoff them with soup daubed in butter
Won't mention the 8x Aldi bake at home croissants that didn't last 12 hours in the freezer on Monday
Before snow mageddon and everyone all has the same idea
Snow shovel to the front of the shed salt tub found
Bit of tidying up in the garden whilst still mild
Grabbed one of those little 600w plug in heaters from Lidl least it's from a reputable supplier lots of dangerous cheap china imports about....
And a desiccant bag "car dehumidifier" will see how that goes.....
Snow chains / shovel / blizzard bag put in the car too

Keeping a close eye on gas use and lodgers' room temperatures. Trying to make sure they are warm enough, but not waste gas. I know how much I want to use, based on average temperature for the day. Downstairs lodger's room is near the front door, which is single glazed, and above cellar. His room has butt jointed floorboard, stained and varnished, so you can see through to the cellar. The cellar window is split in two, and one half has no glass! I stuck some plastic sheet over it. Thank god I put a radiator down there, so I can tweak that if necessary.
