Feels like I have too much food... One guy well said on another forum: "The size of a hiker's backpack is an indicator of the size of their fear". I guess I fear too much that have problems with the storage
Anyway, I once asked AI what will be a reasonable storage in case of a nuclear war hitting the UK and the AI said 3 months is a good option though 2 months is good start. Storing 2-3 months worth of food requires quite a bit of storage, including water

Those hikers resupply in town every 3 days or so.....
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Backpackers are obsessed with weight. They carry the bare minimum. I think for a bugout bag you probably want more survival gear, depending on the situation. Backpackers might have to carry 3 days' food, and they need to be eating plenty. For short evacuation, you can eat less.

When I travel for work around the UK, I usually have only a hold-all. Though I take a few rations with me
Find I kind of contradict myself - I feel safe travelling with very few things and used to spend most of the week not at home

I remember during covid stocking up on vitamins, tinned food and bulk rice and it was in ample supply.

I'd turn on the TV and people were fighting over toilet roll and packaged meat.

I dont think the average person has given preparedness nearly enough thought to even know where to begin :/

I suspect people would do the same in an emergency, grabbing goods that have to be frozen or refrigerated as though the power will always be on.
