It goes up there with taking her on holiday for Valentine’s Day to a country that was experiencing a military coup at the time.

And yes, that is a true story.

Who says Scotsmen aren’t romantic?
Like us Yorkshire folk but with shorter arms and even deeper pockets

How dare you insinuate that I can peel an orange in my pocket.

It is usually a satsuma…

Closed (almost closed) plastic sheet gap over unglazed half of cellar window, so just a trickle of air can get in during winter. Checked TRV in cellar set to 2-2.5. Replaced battery in thermometer/hygrometer yesterday, rechargeable of course.

Checked TRVs in unoccupied rooms 1.5-2. Living room 5, as the thermostat is in there. Bathroom 3.5. My room 2.5-3.

Got someone coming today to trim the hedge.

Got to recharge loads of AAAs, annual recharge. Got 12 from my BOB on the bed ready, 4 others charging, hand torch on bed (think it has 3 inside). I did quite a few early in September, including head torch. Also got 2 in mini torches to do. I don't really bother with AAs, as my Eneloops get rotated through my trackpad. I do have a few old ones I suppose I could do. I don't keep track of those, as they got rotated before I switched to Eneloops.

Also need to check charge on various Lipo batteries and power banks. Unfortunately I have no way of knowing how much charge is in a 18650 battery. I can check the power banks obviously, and the battery for my mini vac, strimmer and drill. You aren't supposed to store Lipos fully charged.

I, on the other have done some really vital seroius prepping ;) Caught up on sleep. All day. Well in between reading murder mysteries. Well you just never know :?
I know, it's very deep and intense, isn't it, having a sofa that peeps can sit on

OTOH, sleep is vital - to the extent that if I've promised myself to go for a drive on a certain day, I won't do it if I have a really bad sleep, I don't trust my reaction times when I feel like shyte. So yes, Lil, you're still a wonderful prepper  though the books you're reading should be about knots or the best carabinier or something

Best carabiner is one made by a proper climbing gear company. I threw the ones that came with my fire escape in the bin. They sometimes didn't close properly, and had sharp burs.

This is a top quality screwgate crab for under a tenner
