Just ran out and got several tins of Tesco Irish stew. I combine it with Bisto gravy granules to get a richer flavour.

Living the dream me.....

May your preps be untouched (save for Rotation) and your life be stress free.
I love this!

The same wishes to you and to all.

New years day menu

Breakfast
Porridge* with golden syrup, vanilla essence, cinnamon and whipped cream (Anchor lite squirty).

Dinner
Bake at home petit pain** with mushroom omelette and melted cheese.

Tea
Spice Tailor Punjabi Chickpea Masala* with Naan bread*.

One serving of whisky. Size of serving confidential.

*prep food, long life. Naan is only a couple of months, curry is about a year. Oats, dunno, a year?
**about 3 weeks shelf life in fridge unopened

The Spice Taylor is so nice, and convenient, I would buy it even if I wasn't a prepper.

;)
Oats, dunno, a year?
I've got oats that I bought in between lockdowns, kept in a clip-seal jar since they're still edible*...... I recently made changes to my diet that means I'm eating oats again ( I didn't for about four years) so these have dropped back into rotation.

* No anti-weevil treatment done as I wasn't planning on them being LTS.

I do put mine in a plastic container, but I have porridge most days in winter, so they'll be gone in a few weeks. I don't really stock a lot, just get a bag when one's half gone. 1 kg divided by 40g portion is, erm, 25 breakfasts.

I'm really hoping that the government pulls their fingers out over the whole balcony solar systems which are legal all over Europe apparently IKEA is piling on the pressure as they want to sell the systems in the UK
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

With you on the plug in solar. I've been trying to find an electrician who is prepared to take on the job of sorting my circuit board out so that I can feed my shed panels into the house. None will touch it - "need a solar panel installer for that". My normal load on the house is just 300W (ish). But at the moment I need a sparks to wire anything in. And as for house insurance .... nightmare. When i renewed the house insurance I had a casual chat with them. Bottom line - do it yourself and there is an issue - no cover.

IKEA has a lot of heft, that would be excellent news, makes everybody a bit safer.

Have ordered a new duvet. Was using a cotton filled tog 3 for the last few months, and I really like it, but I did feel a bit cold a few times recently. I tried my synthetic 4.5 last night, but it was too hot! Decided to order a lightweight wool duvet. It's 200g/m2, and rated tog 2-5. Wool is quoted with a range, as it feels warmer in cold weather, and cooler in warmer weather, so fingers crossed it will bridge the gap.

I get cold feet, so am sleeping in wool socks now. Thought they might be annoying, but they are not.
