Had to laugh at myself recently when I was checking through a handbag I use less often and found 2 front door keys. We have a set of keys in the front door that whoever is last out of the house grabs on the way out and also keep a set each on our person in case we're not together when we're out.

Just off to waste some time looking at "DoomPrep".
Herself used to work as a Carer, most of the Clients had key-safes.
Despite the fact that neither of us are infirm we have had one for years.... As in pre-Covid.

You can't get locked out as long as you can remember the code and forcing the safe is more work then just forcing the door.

Stashing a key in a hiding place is insecure, I watched something on the Box a while back that had a former burglar turned Security Advisor list the five commonest places to hide a key.... A straw poll of friends showed that this covered all of their secret hiding places

Fitted some bags to my bike for practice. Main thing was strapping a 20 litre bag onto my rack, around two panniers. Not difficult, but good to practice for a bug out scenario.

I might be replacing it though, with an Ortlieb 16 litre Dry Pack. I have my eye on it anyway, for day to day rides in colder, wetter weather.

Meanwhile, fitted new bungee to my trunk bag. Still waiting for my rain jacket, which will go under the cord.

300w travel kettle, boils 500ml in under 6 mins with auto shut off.

My Jackery E1000 loves it, so during the day free hot water/brews from the sun.

Prices and Orders

Amazon has got a good deal on Napolina pasta and the Gold long grain basmati rice if anyone's thinking ahead to next year and the crop situation due to El Nino. Sorry about the long links - BITLY and TINY URL now want you to create an account to use their services and I didn't want to.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B091631LCC? ... title&th=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Napolina-Rigat ... EOOHA&th=1

My usual order of Quaker oats has gone up from £2.25 to £3.90 from April, which is quite a jump, but you can get four kg of Scotts oats for £8.96 at the moment.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotts-Porage- ... 139&sr=8-4

NIDO powdered milk has gone up since I last bought it in April also - £3.81 to £4.97.

With Amazon, you should be ok to delete everything after the product name and code, eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotts-Porage- ... 0DJMRM2CC/ delete everything after, usually starts with ref, but sometimes a question mark. All that blurb is referrer, search etc.

Checked expiry date on my sunscreen. Not sure when I opened it, should record that. So ordered some new anyway. Was 50% off and should come tomorrow. Waiting for my waterproof jacket anyway. Got a cycling top arriving today.

I see I have bugout bag freeze dried meals expiring in October. Will have to get some more ordered next month. Made a note to do that.

Annoyingly spent an hour looking for my travel scales. Vanished. They were on top of my wardrobe before my room was decorated a year ago. Useful for weighing packed bags, eg bugout bags. I'll just have to weigh myself holding them, and then subtract. Or use kitchen scale if it'll fit.

Renewing the passport as its going to run out the month after I'm going to need it next year and quite a few countries don't like short dates

I was trying to buy the dip, but no one was selling the dip

Thanks.

I tend to buy the smaller ones as they don't last forever once they're opened and I haven't found a solution for that yet. :?
