BOB suggestion....on a hill walking/camping weekend i’ve eaten tuna chunks in oil mixed with Wetabix,

Interesting!
Got various mac n cheese from Sainsburys today. Some need milk so I'll crack open the Nido and try that, see how it mixes with hot water. I only got sachets for now. The mug shots will probably go straight in the BOB.
Also got some nuts. I realise they only have a short shelf life, so I'll keep them in the kitchen and rotate. I can add a few to cornflakes or porridge.

Batchelors Pasta n Sauce sachet. Verdict - not great.
This is one that you are supposed to add milk to. I used Nido. This diluted fine with the boiling water.
But it was still crunchy after 5 minutes stirring, and even 10. I microwaved it for a minute at that point, added a bit more boiling water and stirred for a bit longer.
It was more or less soft, but the texture was not great. Not sure I'll be bothering with any more of these. It's possible I didn't add enough liquid, but I expect to be able to make something like this in a mug. On the plus side, they have a lot of calories in them.

We’ve used Batchelors pasta and sauce sachets of different types using ordinary milk, not bad,
have added grated cheese or chopped sliced ham or cooked chicken to make more of a meal.
I’ve found Nido mixes better in cold water, it doesn’t go so lumpy, put a couple or spoonfuls of
Nido with water in a sealed container (empty water bottle ?) and shake.
Or you could use tinned Carnation or Ideal milk with the pasta

What I'm aiming for is to cook using boiled water in a plastic bag. I only have one pot in my BOB, and need to keep it clean. Hence using boiled water on the Nido. I think I'll stick to the ones that come in pots, and Mug Shots, as they are designed to just have boiled water added.
